A Fascinating Collection of Schoolboy Letters Home from 1895-96
This is a group of 34 letters from a young student attending New College, Margate, in Kent, writing home to his parents. They make for absorbing reading, discussing his schoolwork, sports, weather, etc. Each is a folded four page letter, and all are in good to very good condition, and quite legible.

2. A Personal Journal from a Tour to Belgium and the Rhine, 1839
This is an interesting handwritten journal, titled “A Personal Journal of a Tour to Belgium & the Rhine with my Father, September, 1830, R. Wright”. 139 pages, in 1/4 leather on marbled boards. The spine is deteriorating, but still holding. Moderate wear at the edges all around. But the contents are quite clean and legible. It describes the modes of travel, the sights, including the battlefield at Waterloo, the food, etc. Quite a thorough record of what must have been a significant experience for the young man.
