2001 Supplement to Alan Day’s J. B. Priestley Bibliography - Scarce!

J. B. Priestley was one of the most prolific, popular and wide-ranging authors of the middle third of the 20th century. He wrote more than 150 major works of fiction, drama, essays and other genres during his long life (1894-1984), including such well known works as the novels The Good Companions, Angel Pavement and Lost Empires, as well as plays such as Dangerous Corner and An Inspector Calls. He also provided hundreds of introductions to others’ works, and more than 2,000 articles for magazines and newspapers. In the early days of World War II, his Postscripts broadcasts on the BBC made him one of the most popular radio personalities on the BBC, second only to Winston Churchill.

Alan Day (1932-2022) devoted decades of his life to produce a comprehensive bibliography of J. B. Priestley’s output, in 1980. His bibliography is still the most definitive to date. However, Day continued his research, finding many additional Priestley works, and in 2001, he published this supplement to his 1980 effort.

The original 1980 bibliography is generally available in the market, but this 2001 supplement had a very small printing, with only 50 signed copies and 150 unsigned copies published, and thus It is extremely scarce. We were fortunate enough to acquire multiple mint copies of both the signed and unsigned versions of the supplement. As a result, we are offering multiple copies for sale to this audience. All copies are hardcover, in green cloth, in fine condition, with no marks or damage at all.
